Yasuo Takei



Yasuo Takei was born in January 4, 1930, died in August 11, 2006, was the founder and former chairman of Takefuji company, Japan's number one consumer finance group.

According to a Forbes survey in June 2006, Takei was the second-wealthiest person in Japan (after Masayoshi Son) - he possessed an estimated net worth of US$5.6 billion.

Founder of consumer lender Takefuji was arrested in 2003 for ordering wiretaps on journalists critical of company. Pleaded guilty but sentence was suspended. Then ordered to reduce family's stake in company from more than 60% to less than 25%.
